Ian Ebmeier, Executive Assistant
My friends and family have always joked that I would inevitably choose a legal career. The first clue that they were correct appeared in middle school; I joined a competitive academic debate team. I loved the challenges of researching technical topics, preparing strong counterarguments, and finding new solutions to complex problems. After performing well at the national level in high school, I discovered I also had a passion for mentorship. I soon began coaching private school students in debate, and I even led speech and debate summer camps.
The second clue appeared while pursuing my bachelor’s degree at the University of Texas at Austin; I excelled when allowed to collaborate with faculty on legal articles submitted for publication in academic journals. My decision was cemented after I received an award for obtaining the highest grade in a large, seminar-style law course. Following that experience, I knew that I would leave campus in search of an opportunity to gain real-world law experience before attending law school.
I’m incredibly grateful to have this opportunity with the Walters Gilbreath team. I am excited to work each day surrounded by attorneys who are at the top of their field and from whom I can learn so much. The firm has a dedicated, resilient, and forward-thinking attitude that enables us to support clients through some of the most challenging moments of their lives. I look forward to seeing how we can do the same for you.
